The #1 Reason Why You’re Not Getting Pregnant

Trying to conceive for a long time? This is why it hasn’t been working for you…

Okay Ladies, you can go ahead and put your pitch forks down.

Well, at least until I finish making my point.

I know that when you read the title of this post or when you saw it on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, etc., it caught your eye for a moment. (I mean, why else would you be here right now, reading this post). For some of you, your blood may have immediately starting boiling, your firsts tightening, your teeth clenching. I’m sure that you thought to yourself one of the following: “Who does she think she is?”, “The nerve of some people!”, “You don’t know my life, lady!”, “How do you know why I’m not getting pregnant?” and variations of the like.

Well, here’s the thing, ladies. It’s time for us to stop tip-toeing around the point. There’s something that we need to admit to ourselves that we don’t want to admit or accept. But, come on, someone has to say it. So, since no one else is willing to do it… I will.

The reason why you’re not getting pregnant, the reason why you’re not pregnant yet, why I’m not pregnant yet… why we are not pregnant yet… is simply because…

It’s not time yet.

Yes, that’s it. I caused that much of a commotion for an answer that seems pretty obvious…

But is it? Such a simple solution but none of us would dare admit it aloud. Saying it aloud makes it real. It makes it true. So we don’t say it. We continue to blame our lack of fruitful multiplying on not taking enough vitamins or not having enough sex. None of us wants to admit to ourselves that the real reason that we aren’t getting pregnant is simply because it’s not our time yet.  We can’t admit nor accept that the reason we aren’t pregnant yet is because “It’s not our time yet,” and “We’re not ready.” Some of you have been trying to get pregnant for years and the accusation that you aren’t ready seems preposterous to you.

But it makes perfect sense to God.

Now, wait, before you click on that ‘x’ button and shut me up like you wanted to when you first saw this title… give me just a few more minutes to make my point.

Think about this, ladies: Elizabeth was old (laughably old) by the time God decided she was ready to get pregnant. So did various other women in the bible. Being ready to have a baby has nothing to do with how long you’re been trying or what you’re been doing, reading, or eating. Whether or not you’re ready to have a child is determined completely by God.

So, we can keep blending smoothies and taking test after test after test… but, if it’s not time, it’s not time. And, when it is time, then it is time. When it is time, there will be nothing that can stop it from happening – no devil, no demon, no medical condition…nothing can stop you from having your baby when God says it’s time.

So, do yourself a favor and chill out. Enjoy this time, enjoy your marriage, enjoy the things that God has blessed you with right nowDon’t get so caught up in the future (or the past), that you miss out on right now. The last thing that any of us needs is to resent our child because we wasted most of our lives trying to conceive them., and didn’t enjoy that time before they arrived. What we need to do is get to the point where we can say “Either way, God is still good.” and “Either way, I am still happy and I am still living my life.” We need to enjoy our lives without a child, and then continue enjoying our lives when our miracle baby does come.

The point is, when it’s your time, it’s your time. And, until then, enjoy your life. People wonder why my Vlog is focused primarily on preparing mentally and spiritually for pregnancy, and that’s because no matter the diet, no matter the routine, no matter the scheduling, when it’s time, it’s time. Until then, we need to focus on preparing our minds and our spirits for not only raising children, but also having a happy and healthy pregnancy. Of course, the physical and nutritional stuff is important, but the emotional and spiritual preparedness for pregnancy are too often overlooked. So often, we feel like if we eat a certain way or follow certain routines or techniques, then that will cause us to get pregnant. We fail to understand, however, that God is the only one who determines that.

So, that’s it. That’s the reason why you’re not getting pregnant.

Remember, focus on preparing yourself emotionally and spiritually for children and on keeping yourself calm and relaxed. In fact, I created a list of must haves for trying to conceive, things that help prepare you, and relax you. You can see that list here. In the meantime, here’s a few scriptures to encourage you to continue to trust and wait on God. There is a reason for everything. We may not understand His timing, but it is always perfect.

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later! – Romans 8:18 NLT

This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. – Habakkuk 2:3 NLT

Blessed woman, who believed what God said, believed every word would come true!” – Luke 1:45 MSG

Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD. – Psalm 27:14 NLT

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. – Deuteronomy 3:16 NLT

” The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen.” – Isaiah 60:22 NLT

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. – Romans 12:12 ESV

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

Without sharing your own story, this post comes off as extremely judgmental. It may be the truth, but it’s NOT a helpful message when someone has been trying to get pregnant for multiple years. We all know the Bible preaches patience and the importance of God’s timing. Rising above the oppressive chains of infertility requires real life coping strategies.
